If the graphic above isn't loading - Phase 1 - Initial ideas: A rough concept and estimated budget. At this point we may discuss ways to value engineer your project - in other words ways to maximize the balance between your needs and your budget. Budget expectations vary wildly and the sooner we can get on the same page the better Phase 2: Design, Budget Refinement:This may include a design agreement which is a contract to design the project. If a design agreement is needed you will be provided with design documentation that is your intellectual property. Then if you are discussing the project with anyone else (which is totally cool!) then you have a design that helps you know that all your bids are for the same thing. They are often not if you don't have a design. If you then move forward with us we normally credit the design cost to the project. Phase 3: Contract and Scheduling: All the details! We try to plan as well as we can. For some projects we won't even start until we have all materials in storage so that we disrupt your home life as minimally as possible. This phase is unique to every project and schedule, it’s common to have outside circumstances impact scheduling needs. Phase 4: Build it: We like to build things off-site when we can and install, but each project is unique and by this phase there will have been lots of communication and planning to make the loud and messy part of the project as painless as possible. Any change orders will be handled as they come up. Phase 5: We try our best to deliver craftsmanship at a faultless level. But once all is said and done if there are touch-ups and clean ups to be done we will of course handle that. It is usually best to wait at least a few days and make a list of things you notice, then we can come back and tune things up all at once. Sometimes things will need minor adjustments after a few months - wood naturally expands and contracts with the seasons.
